Laos, Thailand promote wooden art products through craft exchanges

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Wooden sculptural items made in Laos must rely on foreign markets for greater sales, a senior official of the National Institute of Fine Arts said yesterday.

Dr Maysing Chanthaboutdy was speaking at the opening ceremony of a Lao-Thai cross-cultural craft workshop held at the Vatsaphong Skills Development and Training Centre. He said there are many producers and sellers in Laos, but buyers are limited in the domestic market because of reasons such as low incomes and the small population.
