5th Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge gets green light
A fifth Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge linking Borikhamxay province with Bung Kan province in Thailand is set for construction after authorities from both sides gave the official go ahead. An official from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, who wished to remain anonymous, told Vientiane Times on Tuesday that Lao and Thai officials approved the plans when they met in Pakxe, Champassak province, earlier this year.
Furthermore, a sixth Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge linking Saravan province to Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand is also being proposed.
