UN-Lao partnership centres on people’s wellbeing
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The United Nations (UN) has listed the improvement of Lao people’s living conditions as being at the heart of all the development programmes it plans to carry out in Laos in the coming years, according to the new United Nations chief in Laos.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Vientiane Times on Monday, Ms Sara Sekkenes, who assumed the post of UN Resident Coordinator in the Lao PDR in May, said the UN’s top priority globally was to help its member states to fulfil the 2030 UN agenda with the key message “to leave no one behind”.
