Lao national assembly opens with highlight on shortcomings

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The seventh ordinary session of the National Assembly (NA)’s 8th Legislature kicked off yesterday, highlighting the country’s economic difficulties, which the government must do more to address.

Delivering her opening remarks, NA President Mrs Pany Yathotou said the biannual session would also consider the appointment of new members of the government cabinet in line with a proposal made by Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
