Fears of UXO threat to Attapeu flood victims
Experts in the field have warned about the additional grave danger of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Attapeu province’s Sanamxay district in the wake of last week’s fatal flooding. The experts fear that bombs buried in soil or mud could have been disturbed by the flood, which was triggered by the collapse of an auxiliary dam at the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy hydropower plant last week.
