Lao workers upgrade status in Thailand as deadline looms

Lao authorities are cooperating with Thailand as the southern neighbour’s Labour Ministry hastened the registration of nearly 170,000 undocumented migrant labourers in the country. Thailand’s Labour Minister Adul Sangsingkeo said the ministry’s one-stop service centres would have 169,517 migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar legally registered as of June 15, half a month before the June 30 deadline, the Bangkok Post reported recently.
