Ministry, World Bank prepare to implement health and nutrition access project

Health officials of Laos and representatives of the World Bank met yesterday to discuss preparations to implement the Health and Nutrition Services Access (HANSA) Project, especially disbursement-linked indicators of the scheme. 
The HANSA Project is aimed at ensuring access to quality healthcare and nutrition in the 14 target provinces of Laos.
The meeting was held at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane and was attended by the Minister of Health, Associate Prof.Dr Bounkong Syhavong, officials from the target provinces and development partners. 
At the end of last year, the Cooperation and Planning Department of the Ministry of Health worked with the World Bank to prepare for implementing the HANSA Project. 
Currently, the World Bank is preparing to assess the country’s readiness to implement the project. Work on the project is expected to start in January 2020 and continue till December 2024. 
During yesterday’s meeting, the participants discussed disbursement-linked indicators of the project, project coordination, method for following the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) system, budget for the project, project inspection and other steps to implement the scheme.
