Japan Supports Pediatric Project In Huaphan, Laos

(KPL) The government of Japan has provided grant assistance worth over US$ 281,000 for a pediatric project in Huaphan Province, northern Laos.

The project entitled “Enhancement of pediatric systems in Huaphan Province through capacity building of health personnel and of village health promoters,” is in its third year and aims to contribute to reducing the mortality rates of children under 5 years old in Xone and Huameuang districts by improving pediatric services at health facilities as well as by enhancing villagers’ understanding of issues relating to children’s health through Village Health Committees’ health promotion activities.
