Huaphan’s Lid Rapids to be developed as new tourist site

The Lid Rapids in Add district, Huaphan province, will be turned into a tourist attraction for use by visitors, further promoting the province’s scenic beauty. Deputy Director of the provincial Information, Culture and Tourism Department, Mr Phouvanh Phetmixay, told Vientiane Times on Friday the rapids in Nakham village were very beautiful and had great potential for use by tourists. The provision of leisure activities by the rapids, which are part of the Nam Et river, would bring in more revenue for local residents, he said. The area also has caves and waterfalls.
