Chinese govt awards 50 scholarships to Lao students

The Chinese government has awarded 50 scholarships to outstanding local students and those from disadvantaged remote areas so they can study for bachelor and master’s degrees in China.
The scholarships were announced last week at the Confucius Institute on the National University of Laos (NUOL) campus in Dongdok, Vientiane, helping to mark the organisation’s 15th anniversary.
This latest batch of recipients is part of ongoing efforts by the Confucius Institute to provide scholarships for Chinese language studies at universities in the northern neighbour.
