Laos lowers target for earnings from sugar exports
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Laos has reduced its target for earnings from sugar exports compared to the figure for last year after a drop in annual revenues from exports of the commodity.
Last year, the target for sugar exports was US$92.4 million, but total earnings amounted to only US$63.5 million, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
This year, Laos has set the target at US$85.5 million, a significant increase on the value of sugar exported last year but lower than the target for last year.
