Chinese-funded surveillance centres open to control animal diseases  

The Chinese government provided grant aid of 47 billion kip (39,060,000 yuan) for the prevention and control of animal diseases in Laos, especially at the Laos-China border.

Under the project, a surveillance centre has been built in Chansavang village, Sikhottabong district, Vientiane, as well as surveillance stations in Luang Namtha and Phongsaly provinces.
