Vientiane’s book festival seeks to turn a page in Lao reading culture

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Vientiane is marking another first in its development with the organising of a book festival, hoping to persuade the town’s citizens and students about the importance of reading.

The festival, which opened at the World Trade Center on Thursday, is drawing a large number of people who are enjoying browsing through the million or so books on sale.
