New Zealand beefs up livestock farming in Laos

Farmers from four provinces in Laos have learned about cattle rearing methods through the Lao Quality Beef Initiative (LQBI).
The project team, in collaboration with district authorities, on Tuesday held a training session in Vientiane on small-holder cattle farming practices for farmers from Luang Prabang, Xayaboury, Xieng Khuang and Savannakhet provinces.
The Lao Quality Beef Initiative is a partnership between the governments of Laos and New Zealand to improve the production and quality of locally farmed cattle and beef. The NZ$5 million (US$3.6 million) project was signed in 2017.
