Southern Laos speeds up school damage appraisal after flooding
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Authorities are speeding up their assessment of the damage and losses caused after Tropical Storm Podul hit infrastructure including school buildings in the nation’s south.
An official in charge at the Ministry of Education and Sports yesterday told Vientiane Times they have called on local officials of flooded schools to speed up their assessment of total losses and to report the final figures to the ministry.
The assessment of the overall damage is expected to be completed this week, the official in charge said.
