Make Vangvieng more upmarket; Lao PM suggested

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times) – Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has told authorities in charge to maintain the natural charm of Vangvieng while developing the town in a way that attracts high-end tourists.

The premier gave the advice during a working tour of Vangvieng district on Thursday, saying it would attract more visitors.

Vangvieng is suffering a decline in foreign tourist arrivals due to several factors, including poor road conditions and sub-standard facilities, deputy district governor Bounchanh Malavong told the prime minister.
