Korean Investment Sought in That Luang Lake Special Economic Zone

Korean real estate investment firm D&C Mineun held a week-long promotional seminar in Vientiane from 13 to 16 November where investors could discuss business opportunities within the That Luang Lake Special Economic Zone. Tax breaks and other incentives have been promised by the government of Laos for investors in the development project, and those investing more than USD 100,000 will be granted permanent residency in Laos.

Investors will be exempt from the real estate tax, property tax, and possession tax while receiving a 50 percent discount on value-added tax (VAT). Meanwhile, income tax will be exempted for the first four years.
