Vientiane, Pakxe set in motion wastewater, solids treatment project
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Vientiane and Pakxe are set to improve waste management and treatment services, including collection, waste-to-resource opportunities, and wastewater treatment.
Authorities officially launched the ‘Wastewater and Solid Waste Treatment Capacity Building Project for City Environment Improvement in Laos’ project in Vientiane on Monday.
The project will be carried out from 2019-2024 in the two major cities of Vientiane and Pakxe, Champassak province.
The Korean government is supplying funding of more than US$6.7 million for the project through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
