Lao govt aims to maximise revenues from tourism campaign
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – The government recently advised the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to work with other ministries to promote tourism and generate more revenue for the state budget.
Earlier this year, the government launched Visit Laos-China 2019 in a bid to attract more Chinese travellers and tourists from other parts of the world. The government hopes to attract 4.5 million foreign tourists and generate revenues of over 6,001 billion kip (more than US$700 million), according to its plan.
