EDL cuts electricity rates for irrigation, livestock farms in Laos
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Electricite Du Laos (EDL) under the Ministry of Energy and Mines has instructed its staff across the country to ensure that reduced electricity charges are applied to the use of irrigation pumps and livestock farms.
EDL Deputy Managing Director Mr Khampaseuth Theppangna told Vientiane Times yesterday the new rates would apply from January 1 this year until January 1, 2020. The cuts have been made to help farmers recover from the losses they suffered during widespread flooding last year.
