Drug-resistant Malaria Found in Laos

A new study has found that Malaria parasites resistant to essential drugs have spread to Laos and other parts of Southeast Asia.

A group of researchers from the U.K. and Thailand analyzed samples from malaria patients across Southeast Asia and found that such parasites have moved from Cambodia to Thailand, Vietnam and Laos, according to a study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases journal.
